Start A Blog – How to Market Your Business Without Social Media
The latest research data shows that Google process over 99,000 searches every single second, which translates to more than 8.5 billion searches a day. By building a blog and developing a content marketing strategy, you’ll be able to capitalize on this big opportunity.
Content marketing is a strategic marketing approach that focuses on creating and distributing content that will be attractive to your audience. By creating great content that will solve a problem for your audience, you’re establishing yourself as an authority in your niche.
So, you need to set up a schedule and produce content on a regular basis. You don’t need to worry if you don’t have much time to dedicate to this. You just need to be consistent.
Now that you started to produce content, you need to optimize that content for SEO, to bring the greatest amount of traffic possible to your blog. SEO stands for search engine optimization, and it’s basically the process of making your content attractive to Google.
You need to start by researching good keywords that have high traffic and low difficulty, then you need to include these keywords in the title tags, headings, subheadings, URLs, etc.
The second part of SEO is what you do offsite. You need to get other website owners to link back to you, to increase your website’s power in the eyes of Google. You can get these links naturally by producing great content or you can reach out to other blogs and ask them if you can write an article as a guest, in exchange for links.

Many people think that email is something from the past, but recent statistics show otherwise. According to Hubspot, emails generate $42 for every $1 dollar spent. It’s a pretty impressive ROI.
Email allows you to be in direct contact with the people that really like your work. Starting a newsletter is one of the best ways to market and keep in contact with your audience, as well as build relationships over time.
As humans, we will never be trusting somebody just by looking at a social media post or reading one blog article. What we want to be doing as business owners is to welcome them into a space that is not so distracting and that will allow us to be in their inbox.
With social media, they can shut you off, scroll down to see other things, and the platform can even stop showing your content to them. In a newsletter and in your email list you get a direct connection to your audience. They are much more likely to read an email than to read a social media post.
Ok, I showed you why email is important. But how do you actually build an email list?
The first thing you need to do is to create a lead magnet. A lead magnet is a great piece of content that you’ll offer them in exchange for their email address. It can be anything, a cheat sheet, a quiz, a video training.
To gain access to the lead magnet they will need to subscribe to your email list. You’ll need to choose an email marketing software to store all your contacts and delivery the lead magnet automatically to them.
And then, you need to think about your content plan. A very important tip here is to write a newsletter consistently. It doesn’t matter if it’s once a month, bi-weekly or weekly. You can choose your rhythm.
Choose a frequency that works for you and be consistent. Make sure that your audience can expect to hear from you on certain days of the month.
Offer Referral Incentives
Just think… Who’s the most likely person to know someone who needs your service or product? Exactly, your current customer.
Referrals, also known as word-of-mouth, are an extremely powerful form of marketing. It’s very powerful because the lead you get from referrals is already hot, you’ll not need to do much work to convert them.
They are coming because they got a recommendation from a friend or a family member. You’ll be very well positioned in their eyes.
If you want to get a lot of referrals, you need to be proactive and incentive it. To do this, you can ask your customers directly if they know someone who would benefit from working with you.
Even better is if you offer something in exchange for the referral. You can offer discounts on the next purchases, offer free gifts, the options are many if you’re creative. In this way, it will be a win-win situation.
Collaborate With Others
Brand collaboration is a very common thing. Some examples of brands who are partners:
RedBull + GoPro
Apple + Mastercard
Spotify + Starbucks
By establishing partnerships with another brand, you’re leveraging their audience to build your audience. Someone has already invested time, money, and energy to find YOUR customer. So, the question that remains is: how you can provide value to them to get access to their audience?

Guest posting is when you publish an article on another brand’s blog. You’re providing value to them because they will be getting free content to distribute to their audience. You’ll be gaining value by getting access to their audience and by getting backlinks, which will improve your SEO.
With affiliate marketing, you get other people to promote your product or service. You’ll not need to worry about getting traffic and building an audience. Your affiliate partners will take care of it, and they will make a commission for every sale they refer. It’s a win-win partnership.
